We are huge fans of weaving with kids. Not only can you create some really neat projects, but weaving in itself is a wonderful learning activity for kids. Through weaving children can discover patterns and textures, as well as practice fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination. This post contains affiliate links.
One of my favorite purchases I’ve made in the past is this classroom weaving loom. I’ve used it both at home with my kids and in the school classroom. It’s a great way to encourage creativity and cooperation! (You can learn more about how we use it here: Weaving on a Family or Classroom Loom.)
But, you don’t need an actual loom to get started weaving. I found some super cool ways to make your very own looms using things like plastic lids and cardboard boxes. Here’s over 15 unique homemade looms for weaving with kids from some of my favorite kid bloggers!
