Whenever we’re looking for activities for kids on a rainy day, getting out the painting materials always cures our rainy day blues. We had been reading lots of Eric Carle books lately and thought it’d be fun to create some collage paper just like he uses for the illustrations in his books! Here’s how we made our collage paper.
The first day of the project, we got out our paints, brushes and paper. The kids got busy painting all the paper any colors they wanted. I love that painting is perfect for kids of any age, even toddlers!
And a few days later we added some more paint on top of our original paintings by using different objects to stamp with. We went around the house and found things that would make good stampers~ toilet paper roll, bubble wrap, legos, corks and a toy car!
And here’s our finished paper~ ready to be used for some collages!
