Today was my first attempt at marbling silk. Was i supposed to let the silk dry before rinsing? The carrageenan quickly became cloudy and the colors were not vivid? What should I do next time? Thank you, Rebecca

Which kind of fabric do you use? I would guess 100% cotton, but please tell me if I'm right.

In reply to Susan.

Hi Susan- If you are using the fabric for something as special as a quilt that will most likely be washed, I would be sure to use high quality acrylics (like Golden) and also use an acrylic polymer (like Golden Gac 900) to mix with your acrylics. It will allow you to heat set the fabric when you're done. Here are a few tutorials I found that may help you: This one talks about using an acrylic polymer, and this one talks about marbling fabric for quilts . I just love the idea of marbling fabric for a quilt!!
