Today after picking up Lucy from preschool, we thought it would be fun to go visit Daddy in his 4th grade classroom for lunch! We stopped by one of our favorite restaurants, got some food to go, and headed over to Daddy’s school.
While we were there enjoying our meals, Daddy also had some kids in his room hard at work. One student had dreamed up having a club that made comics, and so now Mr. M (Daddy to us) hosts it in his room during lunch time once a week. It was fun watching the kids work on their drawings. I was reminded just how different each student is~ a couple were focusing intently on their drawings (sandwich in hand) in silence- preferring some peaceful sketching time. Others were up and down out of their chairs, sharing ideas and brainstorming (also sandwiches in hand). It was so fun to watch how much they enjoyed their newfound club!
After eating, I walked around the classroom so inspired by all I saw! I loved all the exciting, colorful artwork proudly displayed around the room (care of an amazing art teacher). I read all the motivational quotes posted at various locations on the classroom walls. It must be such a fun and inspiring place to go every day!
It was fun enjoying lunch together with the Comic Club (the club did change names at least twice while we were there. We’ll see what it ends up becoming officially named!) It was especially fun seeing Daddy so happy and alive in his element! Lucy and Theo did not want to leave!
